How to Get Involved

The Palm Beach County Diving Association (PBCDA) is a conglomerate of scuba diving businesses, instructors, charter captains, instructors and local marine enthusiast who want to be engaged in the promotion and conservation of the marine eco-system in Palm Beach County.

We meet monthly to discuss

1. 1. 1. Conservation: Protection of the goliaths, schedule clean-up efforts, reef or wreck environmental changes
      2. How to drive new business into our county while preserving our natural resources.
      3. Training agency regulations, professionalism within our community, local and national issues pertaining to our marine environment.
      4. Coast Guard Regulations and Safety with respect to charter operations.

Founded in the early 90s, the associations key focus areas are:

1. 1. 1. Insuring professionalism among the Palm Beach dive industry.
      2. Promoting recognition of the reefs as a sustainable resource; to accepting stewardship and providing protection through observation and education; preserve the Palm Beach County reefs
      3. Promoting dive-related tourism in Palm Beach County
      4. Operating as a collective voice in the discussion and negotiations of all matters in the interest of its members.

If you would like to get involved we offer different opportunities depending on your level of participation. You can join the association in a these different forms:

Monthly Meeting:

Attend our monthly meeting to discuss local policy, environmental concerns, tourism and industry standards.

Local Events:

Participate in our annual reef/beach cleanup and build relationships with other local marine environment activists.

FWC Workshops and FWC Commission meetings are often overlooked. These meetings are not only informational but also give us the opportunity to hear up to date policy from the FWC. Attending these meetings allows us to have a constant presence and keeps the dive community on their radar.

Annual Fundraiser:

Every year we hold an annual fundraiser during the fall and are always looking for more sponsors and item donations. Sponsorships for the fundraiser come in all shapes and sizes. Business from all industries get involved and the donations are not specifically dive related.

Our sponsors in the past have ranged from golf outings, coolers, vacations to Mexico, tanning salons, art work and much more! Email us now if you would like to become a sponsor!

Additionally we look for volunteers to help facilitate the actual event. Join us!

We do accept donations to help fund our efforts and any amount is greatly appreciated! We have a quick donate option below. If you have a larger donation or would prefer to write a check please contact us to do so. Additionally, we offer In Memoriam donations as an option.

We do offer four different membership levels: active, associate, affiliate, and general. You can find definitions and specifics of these four levels within our Bylaws. And feel free to reach out to us with any questions.
